Living Proof: Seven Action Verbs from Jesus that Demonstrate We are Born-again

SERVE…….GO…….TRUST

Review of previous messages:

Message #1

Repent/Believe…Jesus is Who He said He is – God Incarnate, Messiah (the Christ)

“Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 3:2, 4:17

“…so that everyone who believes will have eternal life in Him. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” John 3: 15-16, 18

Follow…Jesus anywhere He leads no matter how hard it gets.

And (Jesus) said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.”  Matthew 4:19

Messsage #2

Love: Love God. Love your neighbor. Love your enemies. Love yourself. Love one another.

Message #3

Die…Jesus said we are to take up our crosses daily. The cross meant death!

“the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. The one who has found his life will lose it, and the one who has lost his life on My account will find it. Matthew 10:38-39

Message #4

Serve…Jesus demonstrated what it looks like and told us to follow His example.

“If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.”   John 12:26

You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am.  If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.” John 13:13-15

Go…Jesus’ final command was for us to go and share the Gospel everywhere.

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

But He said to them, “It is not for you to know the periods of time or appointed times which the Father has set by His own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”  Acts 1:7-8

What doe that translate to today? Local = middle TN; Regional = TN; National = U.S.; Global

Trust…Jesus will never abandon us and fulfill His promises.

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be.” John 14:1-3

“…for He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER ABANDON YOU” so that we confidently say, “THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?” Hebrews 13:4b – 6

Invitation

If this invitation finds you apart from a relationship with Jesus Christ, I say this with certainty. You are exactly where satan wants you. That is the most dangerous place anyone can be. I have Good News! Jesus went to the cross and suffered the most heinous death by crucifixion to pay the penalty for our sins. He said we are all sinners in need of a Savior. He also said He is the only way – the door to salvation. (Matthew 4:17; 9:13; John 14:6)

To those who receive Jesus, He gives eternal life in Heaven. Those who reject Him will spend eternity suffering in Hell, wishing they had not refused His love, mercy and grace. I plead with you not to close this message without confronting yourself in light of the truths I presented. I may be the last evangelist or Bible teacher the Lord puts before you to beg you to surrender to Jesus. Will you humble yourself and receive Him today? I am praying you do!

For Christ’s sake,
